recent layouts

(Quote from the book "Someday" by Alison McGhee and Peter H. Reynolds, about a mother's dream for her child. Each page is a cute thought like above that relates to the growing child.) How perfect for that picture!

Dare #171

This Dare (http://www.efferdares.com/) was to scrapbook your current mantra. For years, I have reminded myself to "Enjoy the Process." It's amazing how many times it has changed my attitude about something that was hard, tedious, or something that I just wanted to be done with.

Birthday Cake and "Happy Birthday"

Of course, there is a story to this sad little cake...it was supposed to be a two-layered cake. Well, Eric and I ate the first layer the night before. So typical. So, one layer...that's okay...but then Eric and Ella decide to decorate. Ella was in charge of the blue sprinkles...and Eric, well, he did the frosting (very thoroughly, as you can see). And then me, being the pro thought I should write his name on the cake...the tube exploded as I started. The "happy birthday" looked okay, but you'll have to take my word on that. Then, last minute...Eric added Jax. It's cute...but all I could think about was Ella's first birthday cake- a monkey face with cocoa-krispies as the brown and a real banana peel for a hat. Actually, I think this one tasted better!

Singing "happy birthday." You may want to turn your volume OFF!

Happy Birthday, Cohen!

We took the kids to the MN zoo for Cohen's birthday.

On the train that circled the zoo. Cohen had everyone laughing because he was
squealing and literally jumping up and down. We had never seen him act like that!

Cohen had the biggest reaction to the aquarium. He just stared and smiled and giggled.
