ODE to the SICK DAY

Oh Preschool, how I miss you so
For, when sweet Ella is sick, she cannot go

There is no food in the cupboards
So, tonight there will be no supper

For, I cannot (should not) go to the store
Because with two sick kids, I am frazzled to the core

Ella is covered in rash; Cohen is quite wheezy
The highlight of our day was lunch by delivery

The kids have been tickled, giggled and bathed
I feel like I've been waiting for nap time all day

When I woke this morning, there is something I could not have foreseen
Just how long one day is when you're under quarantine

I could go on and on with all of this banter
Quite honestly, it helps to have a sense of humor

Valentine's Day

Ella with the valentine's treat bags she made for her class mates.
Yes, I was that mom carrying in the giant plastic tub of valentine's! But, they were just so cute, I couldn't resist. And, Ella was very excited about them, and to have her first Valentine's party. She was thrilled with the bag of cards and suckers and candy she came home with from her friends. Her teachers even gave each of the kids a book.

This is Eric's way of being a part of the festivities!

Happy Valentine's Day!! I just had to go all out for Ella this year. Balloons and gifts and candy, making cookies, heart shaped pizza...she had so much fun. Actually, we had so much fun!!

Blowing bubbles for Cohen.

Cutie Cohen

In the last 2 or 3 days, Cohen has been sucking two fingers on his left hand. For a while now, he's been working on a preference- his thumb, thumb and forefinger, his fist. I think this is the cutest of all! Plus, it happens to be the same two fingers on the same hand that I sucked!

Dancing Queen

Ella had her first dance class today! It is an intro to dance..and after 7 classes, there will be a performance for the parents. (The parents aren't able to observe the other classes). I have to say, seeing 12 little girls in ballerina get-up was adorable. They were all so excited, running around waiting to get in their classroom. I wonderend if Ella would be the only one in a black leotard- but more than half of the girls had black on. (I knew she would notice- she did point out the different skirts. She was envious of one little girl's full tutu). When Eric and I asked her what she did...she said danced...and that was that!! I know she had fun...and she is in the class with her friend Grace, who she also takes yoga with on Saturday mornings.
