Valentine's Decorations

Ella and I made valentine's decorations today. We punched out hearts and the word "Love" to hang on branches in the kitchen. Ella is finally at the age where she is actually helpful when doing projects! She punched the holes in the hearts and cut each piece of string as I tied them on the branches. How fun! I'm looking forward to doing more projects that she can take part in...so often she just watches or gets herself in to trouble! ....And then we stung paper heart doilies to hang from the windows- those were completely Ella's idea!

Our Backyard "Sledding Hill"

Cohen was so excited to get to go outside with Daddy and Ella. Usually, it's just a Daddy/ Ella thing....and Cohen watches from the window. (Cohen is wearing the snowsuit Eric wore when he was Cohen's age).

They've been up to something out there! Daddy has made the perfect groomed sledding hill out of the steps to our deck. Then, he took the kids to get Ella her own tube.

Cohen was happy as could be just playing with the shovel in the snow. This was Cohen's first time actually playing in the snow.
I'll try and get the video's up soon...they are taking too long to upload at the moment!

Ella Mae

Hey there, pretty girl. This is just a few of the pictures I took of Ella a couple of weeks ago...playing with my new camera. I did a little bit of editing...just read a tutorial on bringing out the sparkle in eyes on the Studio Calico website. I actually followed it and was successful (before giving up!) I'm pretty blown away by the top picture. Anyone need a cute model?! :)

two new layouts

I've been holding on to these pictures until I was ready to scrap them...and suddenly yesterday, I was ready. There were tears and prayers...so, so forever thankful you are safe and here with me, Ashley. I love you!!!
I love these pictures! So sweet.

Studio Calico Sunday Sketch: 1/16/11

I bought the hot aire balloon rub-on specifically for this page...I have been wanting to do a page with the lyrics to the sone "Parachute" by Train since this summer. I was holdong off because I wanted it to be "just right." Last weeks sketch over at the studio calico blog was the exact inspiration I needed. I love it!

Effer Dares

Back in November, I participated in a "swap" for the site "Effer Dares." Those of us that participated were all sent the same things to use on our pages (see above)- to use however we wanted. The layouts have been posted on the site... all 3 of mine were included. Go to: http://www.efferdares.com/ to see them!

Ella's Beach Day...and Jesus' Birthday Party

The last day of school before Christmas break was a snow day....which was the day Ella's class was supposed to throw a birthday party for Jesus. Beach day was already scheduled- so they combined the two! Of course, the dressing up in summer clothes was a big hit. We spent quite a lot of time coming up with the perfect attire. I even had to paint her little piggies pink (half an hour before bed time) so she could wear her flippity-flops.

15 months...

Doesn't this just make you smile? And laugh out loud, a little?! This guy has blessed our lives for a little over 15 months now. He's become very clingy to his mama...I've learned to make supper with one hand; Cohen on my hip. (Haven't figured out how to do dishes one handed, yet). He has amazing rhythem...and seems to prefer the Black Eyed Peas, although we mostly listen to country. He is a new walker- in the past few weeks. He's a little devil when I try to shop with him....usually the trip end with tears, and they aren't his! And he has learned just how to get back at his big sister. Hair pulling is a preference, but he has this new (awful) scream- and it really gets to her...and me. He's "grrrr-ing" and "vrrroooming" and building towers with blocks. He has also done quite a lot of growing since his 12 month check-up. In fact, we had to double check his height. And then, his doctor almost didn't believe it. He went from the 30th percentile to the 80th percentile in height! I knew he grew- because I had to buy ALL new clothes for him. His little noggin is still almost off the charts- but he's much more proportioned now. This is definitely a fun age.
