When God Sends you a Rainbow...And a Friend

I woke up this morning in a panic- a cold sweat and everything. What was I thinking? Driving to Ohio with the kids for a funeral? Was it worth it? Was I carzy to think I could do it? I focused on my first MOPS meeting this year and got in the shower, praying and praying. Wondering if I should change my mind. Before I started to blow-dry my hair, I opened the window and something made me take a second glance outside. A rainbow?! I didn't even know it was raining....or even light out, yet. I just looked at it, in aw, suddenly feeling very calm and certain that, yes, I can make this drive tomorrow. I stood looking at the rainbow, realizing I was standing in the middle of it and feeling like it was meant for just me. How awesome is that?

Then, I went to MOPS and met my group. At the end of out meeting we do prayer requests and I asked that they pray for us to have a safe drive without (too many) complications. Instantly they all agree to call and text me tomorrow throughout the day to check on me. Amazing.

And the biggest of all, my dear friend, Lindsay brought me to tears when I walked out my front door and found a pizza and cookies and 3 goodies bags for me and the kids. Are you kidding me?! And this is when the tears finally come. This takes my breath away that she was so thoughtful. That she took her 3 kids into target, after MOPS, at lunch time, to give me this wonderful gift.

I definitely feel God's arms around me today- He's showed me His warmth in so many ways.

I have a feeling these next few days will be a gift, as well. I'll say good-bye to Grandpa Jim and feel at peace knowing he will be with Grandma Jo again. On the up side, I will be able to celebrate Cohen's birthday with my family!

Ella's twinkle toes

Can a new, sparkly, light-up pair of shoes make a little girl even sassier? You better believe they can...and do! (Ella's second day of school!)

Studio Calico Weekly Challenge

This week's Studio Calico challenge was to use a circular title. I just love these pictures. Isn't this such a little brother thing to do?!

This is for my friend Lindsey, who warmed my heart when she asked me to make her something!

New Favs

Pages using Studio Calico's September Kit: "Glee Club," as well as a few of my own goodies. I wish I had 5 sheets of each of these patterned papers- this kit is so me!

Wisconsin Dells Vacation

What a great trip we had to the Dells. We were the lucky ones this time, with the shortest drive. We arrived first and got settled in before the next two car loads with Dad and Terri and then Ryan, Bern and Ash arrived.

This picture and the next two were from Bern's phone. I'm really starting to want a smart phone!!

Back to School Day!!

It's hard to say who's more excited for school to start- me or Ella?! Cohen and I have had the most peaceful day...and now he's sleeping and the house is quiet and I've been checking things off my to-do list. Like cleaning the windows...it's the simple things that make me happy!

Ella goes to preschool all day on Thursdays, so I don't pick her up until 3pm. She's bound to be a whiney mess by the time she gets home- so until then I will savor the quiet!

Just like last year, Ella was full of poses. I didn't suggest a single one of these poses. One of them she said "I think I saw this on TV or something." Oh, Ella.

She's beautiful! Radiant!

She came up with this, too. "I'll just go behind the tree and peek around."
