Effer Dares

Last month, I participated in one of the "Dares" at www.efferdares.com and by doing this specific one, I was invited to participate in a "swap," where several ladies were sent the same items and asked to create layouts using them. The first photo is what I recieved, from Tina Azmus, filled with her polaroid and ttv pictures (which she turned into stickers and overlays). It was such an exciting envelope to open! I couldn't wait to get started. I used the program http://poladroid.net to create polaroid-looking photos, aging them and all! At least one of my pages will be on the effer dares website, tomorrow! SO, check it out!

the wait is over

The prize I won for the layout above finally arrived! I've been waiting 3 weeks. I haven't anxiously awaited a delivery like this, since...well, since Cohen's delivery! :) So, it was worth the wait. I had no idea what was in the package- except that I was able to pick the line I wanted. I choose Dear Lizzy, Enchanted. I had wanted it sooo bad when it came out, but neither scrapbook store here carried it. I didn't even see it at Archiver's. And I never would have been able to get this much of it. So, there was squealing, and jumping and a few "he-he's" of excitement. Now, my brain is working over-time. It's just perfect for Ryan and Bern's wedding pictures!

Quite the Predicament

Yes, I ran and got the camera...even when he was pretty mad at the whole situation. But, the way I look at it: you do something as ridiculous (and mind boggling- how did he get in there?) then you're going to get you picture taken. :)

The Inevitable...

Here it is...the "Wintery Mix." Yep, should have bought Ella those snow boots. At least she has a coat, and hat- she even has gloves. :) So, I'm not that terrible! But, now they are talking about a possible winter storm... I've got my boots! lol

Aren't We Lucky?!

Two beautiful, warm, November days! We usually have snow by now. It's the weirdest feeling- normally toward the end of summer, you know the nice weather is coming to an end. It gets cold and then you have a few more summer-like days. But you don't trully appreciate until you really know: this is the last nice day of the year. In fact, there is snow in the forecast for Friday. Ella needs winter boots yet and as I passed them in Target today....well, I just walked on by.
The sandbox picture looks so sweet- but what you can't see is Cohen and Ella fighting over the truck. You don't see Cohen shoving sand in his mouth, looking at me like "what are you going to do about it mom?" I'm going to let you eat sand, that's what, kid. And then, for the good deed of of McDonald's, a picnic and the park, I was punished with whining and crying and demands and two tired kiddos... :) But that is to be expected!
Oh, and one more thing- a preschool mom told me that her son, Coby, told her that he was going to marry Ella, and not to let him forget when he gets older. He said, "because I really like Ella, and she's really cute." I told the mom she was going to be in trouble with that Coby...but really, I think I might be the one in trouble!

New Layouts

I submitted this layout for the "Sunday Sketch" challenge on the Studio Calico blog.

These 2 pages (above and below) are for VIP Design Team. It's technically a birthday line that they asked me to make look "non-themed."

Yes, I already scrapped the Halloween pages! How do I find the time?!

Our trip to Indiana a couple of weeks ago.

Ella's birthday, at the Nickelodeon theme park inside the Mall of America; with her friend,
Grace. They had so much fun and we made sure to treat them both like little princesses!

The Princess and The Frog

Happy Halloween Day! This is what Ella called Halloween. On Friday, she said, "Mom, can we make those pumpkin cookies on Halloween Day? So, the day was filled with Fall -like activities, raking and bagging leaves (Ella was actually helpful!) and carving pumpkins. At around 5pm, she couldn't wait any longer. So, Ella and I went in the bathroom and shut the door- and this is where the royal princess treatment began. Actually, I knew I needed to stretch things out a bit because we still had a while before dark. I did her hair and surprised with the tiara I wore in our wedding and placed her vail on. Of course, I couldn't help but imagine doing this for her in the future. Then, I put on a bit of make-up and she put on way too much lip gloss. She was so proud and so beautiful.
And for the cute froggy...he was wondering what the hec was going on. My little frog prince just wouldn't sit still or smile. And the picture of the princess kissing the frog...sadly, so sadly, that did not happen. The froggy just couldn't take it any longer and was in tears.
