Ella took this picture of herself! Even though Santa brought her a camera of her own, I am still surprised by some of the shots I find on my camera when she get her hands on it. I think I could have gone on and on about what I see when I look into her eyes...but this is what I wrote: "I see the most beautiful girl, inside and out. I see a girl full of spirit and innocence. I see a girl who says "it's a beautiful day today" even when it's cloudy outside. I see a girl I'm proud to call my daughter."
One morning before preschool, I checked the news to see the temperature and caught a blurp about a holiday train stopping in rochester around noon. I didn't know anything else about it, but I thought Ella would think it would be neat to see a train up close. I grabbed the winter wear and headed out. There was a lot of people there! It was well below freezing out and Cohen was only 6 weeks old...and of course the train was late! We waited for an hour before the train arrived- but once it did, it was well worth it! Out jumped Santa (who rapped!) and then there was a band who sang 4 or 5 Christmas songs. Cohen slept the whole time, while I held him and Ella was as happy as could be. I was glad I felt so adventurous that day!

Cohen eating solids

These pictures are from Cohen's first time eating rice cereal, about two weeks ago. He's now eating "solids" three times a day...and I can't believe how much this kid puts down!!

Christmas Morning!!! What a perfect Christmas! Ella talked about Santa coming since before Thanksgiving. All she wanted was a camera. Santa was even more generous than that!
Welcome to the Engelhardt family blog! I'm so excited to share pictures of the kids and to share about our days and to even post some of my scrapbook pages.

Now, how can you NOT smile looking at this picture?! Cohen has reached a slender 16# for his 4 months of age. He is eating rice cereal already, also bananas and he had applesauce today. He has rolled over twice, but not since New Year's Eve. And, he wants nothing to do with standing- pure jello legs! I think he will be an early sitter, though.

Here's my girl!! Here she's in my scrapbook room sitting at her desk. When I'm sitting at my desk, she will run in and say "mom are you working?" (That's code for scrapbooking!) I'll say yes....and it's "I wanna work, too." And then the 3 year-old chit chat starts and "work" is no longer being accomplished! :) And there's also the "mom, can I use this? Mom, how does this work? Mom, where's my glue stick? My glue stick isn't working! MOM!!!" Me-"What, honey? Did you put the lid on?" Ella-"No." Me- "Hmmm." Seriously. It's everytime!!

I do love that she wants to do want I'm doing. She is such a bright, energetic, intuative little girl. I'm proud of her everyday.
